Band oil separator and disc separator
Liquid cleaning media (especially the ones used for cleaning process) are contaminated with oil, emulsion or other substances floating on the water surface. Removing these contamination improves the quality of the medium and prolongs its life ( i.e. utility). Simple oil separators (skimmers) such as PAL and DIK are suitable for purifying stable, cooled liquid, because they collect the oil floating on its surface. Such devices are mounted on the edge of the existing tank.
In the band oil separator PAL lower roller is hanging on the collecting belt and immersed in the purified liquid and the upper roller is driven by a motor. Thanks to that the device can be installed in different tanks with different depth and different distance between the liquid surface and the tank's edge. The change of the distance between the liquid surface and the edge does not influence the efficiency of the device provided that the lower roller is constantly immersed. The maximum height of oil transporting is up to 2,5 m. Speed of the belt (movement of the drive roller) is regulated by a potentiometer. The accuracy of separation oil from the liquid depends on the speed of the belt. The quicker the belt moves the more liquid (water) is collected by the belt with the oil. The belt can be adjusted to working temperature up to 80°C and 2,5-13 pH. The capacity of PAL-1 is ca. 40 l per hour. The capacity can be increased by installation of double rollers and two belts on one drive axle (PAL-2).
The capacity of the disc oil separator DIK depends on the stability of the liquid surface. The element collecting the oil from the surface is a steel disc. At the change of the distance between the liquid surface and the edge of the tank the disc's surface immersed in the liquid changes. Maximum capacity of the device is ca. 5 l per hour. The speed of the disc is regulated.
